In 1923 a Jackson Hole, WY settler named Luther Taylor purchased 40 acres of land (eventually increased to 200 acres) and built three cabins. This historic site has become famous for its appearance in the 1953 movie "Shane" starring Alan Ladd. In the movie, this particular "Shane" cabin belonged to the character Ernie Wright. played by actor Leonard Strong.
